Utopia.
“Because all the life is as an utopia, that we have to do real… I really like use the words “realistic utopia”, because it’s a mix with dream and impossible, and the aim is to make it real, and even if we can think the contrary, ALL IS POSSIBLE with positive feelings!”
We cheer for the positive feelings and the energy that Mademoiselle Maurice’art bursts out! Thousand of colourful origami used to create interesting and magic installations. Magic because I do think that this artist is able to generate something very powerful… A smile on our face.
Think about walking up the stairs surrounded by 30000 little artworks, that are strengthened by each other. We are in front of an indisputable evidence… the power of the art! All her original creations embed her enviable positive attitude!
Well, I personally love urban installations especially if you suddenly bump into it, especially the one that have the capacity to slow down our daily rush. On the other hand, some people could not like them because they ‘damage’ the environment (really? Yes some people do think so) or are ‘illegal’.
This word links my mind to a book that I recently read -which I warmly reccomend-, Why Knot by Philippe Petit the tightrope walker who had a stroll on top of the Twin towers, Notre Dame and the Eifell Tower . He wisely says that to be a big artist.. you need to be an outlaw… completely trust your intuition, and be illegal.. Very colorful and creative outlaw artworks for Mademouiselle Maurice, although her creations are usually part of urban festivals… so authorized.Who is Mademoiselle Maurice?? She is a happy sensitive French artist who moved from the mountains and the south of France to its capital, Paris, where she is currently based, after a year in Japan. She uses different mediums such as origami, lace, photography, or painting and embroidery to create unique public installation.
Besides putting an ‘unexpected’ smile on the face of each viewer, Mademoiselle Maurices’ creations deeply reflect and investigate the interactions between humans and their every day environment. “I create naive works at first sight, but deep and sensitive, in a constant connection with the events encountered during my daily life.”The power of this young artist can embrace and transmit you a very positive feeling and mood.
Try out what effect her art has on you on Mademoiselle Maurice website, or go to Paris to see it in reality. A nice excuse for a trip!Utopia.
