“Eventually everything connects – people, ideas, objects. The quality of the connections is the key to quality per se.” Charles Eames
For Common Knowledge in April, you have the chance to discover Hasselt’s dynamic cultural scene. What opportunities are there for young artists, creatives, designers and cultural professionals?
From 14:00 till 18:00, we have organized for you different meetings where you have the chance to learn more about the insight of different cultural organizations and artists living in this buzzing city.
Why Hasselt? In May Hasselt is bursting with events, from Frame symposium to the cultural night.
With Common Knowledge you have a unique opportunity to gain insight in to the local cultural scene and talk to some of Hasselts inspiring cultural leaders.
We’ll all start together at the PXL-MAD faculty where Bert Willems, presents the PHD-program offered by the cultural university of Hasselt and take us for a journey into the open artists studios and laboratories, in this way you will discover more about the tools or machinery that you could use.
We’re very happy to take you inside the studio of Koen van Mechelen, and talk with Goele Schoofs, process manager, about the current position of the artists. What does it mean to be successful on an international level?
Walking around, we’ll enter in the beautiful exhibition space of Z33 House for contemporary art, where Ils Huygens & Evelien Bracke, curators of this multi-disciplinary institution will welcome us. At the same time, you will get to know Ciap, the Association for Contemporary Art.
Then we will stroll to VONK Ateliers where the director of D!NG Magazine, Jolien Dirix will share her experience about artist & entrepreneurship: What’s the matter?
We’ll also meet some artists of VONK.
Last but not least Pieter-Jan Valgaeren of Triennale Hasselt will present the upcoming project plan for this artistic cultural event, that will fulfil this Belgian city with art, music, dance and theatre.
After these fruitful meetings there will be a chance to get to know all the participants with a special activity! 🙂
