| Open Call | Maastricht street art

Maastricht Street Art is a project created in order to showcase Maastricht’s artists and allow citizens and tourists of the city to discover local artistic talents.

In October, the main shopping street of Maastricht will be enriched with 10 artworks from local talents. For two weeks everyone walking in Grote Straat will discover and enjoy a more artistic perspective to Maastricht.

Who can participate?

Every artist that matches the following criteria can apply:

You must be an artist graduated from one of the Academies of Maastricht, or you must be an artist that has been living in Maastricht for more than 3 years.

The foundation usually aims to support artists younger than 35 years old. However, for this project we decided not to limit the age, so everyone fitting the above criteria can apply.

How does it work?
The project dynamics are very easy!

You need to send us a high-resolution squared picture of your artwork (min. 320 dpi).

Why a picture? Unfortunately, we can’t hang the installations, but we have the permission to install banners depicting artworks by local artists.

Please, send your chosen picture via WE TRANSFER at hello@theartistandtheothers.nl and write in the subject “Maastricht street Art”.
Include a short bio* and the text about the artworks. (150 words)

*For the bio we expect your name, studies, background info about your artistic research.

Selection process:

All the pictures received will be shared in a specific album on our social media platforms.

The public will be in charge of the first round of selection. The most voted pictures will then go to the second round, where an art jury will select the final ten.

Deadline:

Please send your entries by midnight 10th of September at the latest.

Next to the “public exhibition”, a small catalogue and postcards featuring the selected artworks will be created.

We look forward to receiving your artwork!
