“La Danza senza tempo”

Sometimes little is enough to create something beautiful.
From a spontaneous encounter in the enchanted village of Peccioli, where my father grew up, this dance was born, immortalized by the attentive and sensitive eye of Francesco Mazzei (video artist). By letting our intuitions and our greatest passions guide us, we managed to give this twilight a place that is no longer the same.
You just have to have the courage and the will to throw yourself into something sometimes without fear of not succeeding. Life is a moment that shocks you and leaves you speechless. This collaboration, born by chance, has allowed me to revitalize a special place in myself and with my body that I always carry in my heart.  Do what you love, always do it.

Lose yourself without fear, the journey is long and that is what beauty is all about.

About the artist:

Marika Meoli is an international dancer, dance movement therapist, and movement teacher. She graduated from Codarts as a professional dancer. Since then, she has been working in Europe and Asia more closely with Joost Vrouenraets (NL) and Alexis Blake (USA). In 2018 she started to deepen her skills by working as an assistant choreographer and by creating her own works. In 2020 Marika’s dance piece was selected by Fonds Podium Kunsten to be performed more than 50 times in the Netherlands. Next to her dancer/maker career, Marika has experience working with children, adolescents, and elderly people with dementia as a dance movement therapist. Furthermore, she is currently busy with a dance project which involves the use of Tango for elderly people with Parkison.

For Marika’s vision, dance has to be for all and everyone should be empowered through dance and movements, given its significance in medical and social fields. She strongly believes it is the mission, for those that are dancing, to bring this message and preserve it as a treasure for what will come next.
