Have you ever asked yourself what are the specifics for Portfolio nowadays? What is the best format, and what you should you include?
A Portfolio is a collection of your work, which shows how your skill and ideas have developed over a period of time. It demonstrates your creativity, personality, abilities and commitment, and helps us to evaluate your potential.
Portfolios take time, and it can be extremely hard to know where to start, decide what to show and choose what to exclude.
Portfolio Workshop & Review: Theory, Analysis & Critique
In the first session, on the 4/05, the experts will share key points and insights, drawn from their professional experience of working with international artists. They will answer your questions and provide you with a structure. In the feedback session – the Portfolio Review on the 19/05 – you will receive individual feedback from different experts, curators and art professionals.
The two parts are tailored to provide artists with all the essential know-hows of Portfolio development. Every participant will have the opportunity to present their own Portfolio, and receive peer-feedback, and tailored advice directly form the experts. At the end of the workshop, you will be able to create a meaningful updated Portfolio, including all necessary information. You will also be able to adapt it for a competition, grant application, or to send it to a Gallerist or a Curator.
KEY POINTS
- What are the specifics necessary for Portfolios nowadays?
- What are the big dos and don’ts?
- Which format should a Portfolio have?
- What kind of content and information should you include?
- How should you adapt your approach to the recipient?
- How should you deliver your Portfolio to them?
At the end of the workshop you will receive a toolkit you can refer to anytime you need.
!! We highly recommend artists to attend both the workshops and the feedback sessions (workshop & feedback package). The unique opportunity to receive tailored feedback from our experts can give you the tools you need to develop a well-balanced portfolio, making the difference. At the end of the feedback session you will have your portfolio ready to be used when applying for grants, residencies, fellowships or other opportunities. !!
