PORTFOLIO FOR VISUAL ARTISTS: DIALOGUE, ANALYSIS AND CRITIQUE

We value the precious knowledge, expertise and experience that the experts invited are willing to share with the participants.—- A Portfolio is a collection of your work, which shows how your skills and ideas have developed over a period of time. It demonstrates your creativity, personality, abilities and commitment, and helps us to evaluate your potential. Easy, right? Everyone would agree: easier said than done.

How will you learn?The workshop is divided into two parts and tailored to provide artists all the essential know-hows of Portfolio Creation. In the first part of the workshop, you have the chance to enjoy a panel discussion, where artist Dr. Eleni Kamma, awarded curator Jelmer Wijnstroom and Bas Hendrikx, Senior Cultural Policy Officer of the Cultural Department Dutch Embassy in Belgium and Former advisor for Mondriaan Fonds & AFK,- will share their personal experience and insights. In the second part, you have the chance to work in smaller groups, each of these will be led by the experts. Every participant will have the opportunity to present their own Portfolio, and receive tailored feedback from the experts and peers.
What will you learn?You will gain valuable field knowledge about Portfolio Creation. At the end of the workshop, you will be able to create a meaningful & up-to-date Portfolio, that includes all the information needed, and you will be able to adapt it depending on the person or organisation you need to send it to – whether a gallerist, a curator, a competition, or a grant application.
