HOLDING HOME – Open Performance

March 12 @ 4:30 pm 6:30 pm

HOLDING HOME: A Collaborative Project

Date: Thursday, 12 March 2026

Location: Halle 6 – Studio 1-
Dachauerstrasse 112d 80636 Munich

Time: 16:30 – 18:30
You can come and go as you wish.

Artists Maryna Naumchuk and Sara Hashmi are currently in residence at Halle 6 (Munich), a place that is new to them. Coming from different culture and shaped by personal experiences, they reflect on what it means to build a sense of home in unfamiliar surroundings.

Maryna Naumchuk reflects on movement and displacement through her observation of plants — how they travel, disappear in some places, and take root in others while still remaining themselves.

Sara Hashmi brings elements connected to food, memory, and everyday rituals, reflecting on the experiences of immigrant mothers and the ways culture, care, and knowledge are carried through daily practices.

The fabric you will see during the performance becomes a meeting point where materials, memories, and gestures come together. Through stitching, drawing, and the addition of materials that feel close to them, the artists slowly embed their experiences of this time into the work. As the performance unfolds, the piece grows and transformed, shaped not only by their hands but also by the presence and gentle interactions of the public.

The artists will begin an ongoing performance at 16:30. You are welcome to join at any time from 16:30 until 18:30. During this time, visitors are invited to enter their studios and watch the creation of this piece and, if they wish, interact with the work through a small participatory gesture, allowing other voices and experiences to briefly enter the piece.

Come by!
