Euregional design on Circular Economy

The circular economy is a model of production and consumption, which involves sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing materials and products as long as possible. In this way, the life cycle of products is extended.

In practice, it implies reducing waste to a minimum. When a product reaches the end of its life, its materials are kept within the economy wherever possible. These can be productively used again and again, thereby creating further value.

In this period where finding innovative solutions to our current climatic and societal emergency, the circular economy makes both environmental and business sense: there is less waste and growth no longer requires an increasing extraction and consumption of resources, energy, water and primary raw materials. *

Euregional Open Call for Design on Circular Economy wants to focus on  ideas and projects that prioritise sustainable production and consumption,  extend life cycles of products, and address also the important problem of plastics, as well as initiatives for a cleaner environment, and create a more sustainable future.

Additionally, in this particularly challenging period, the Euregional Open Call for Design on Circular Economy wants to support the development of ideas of Euregional creative industries professionals, and inspire the Euregio with innovative ideas, everyone should know about.

In order to do so, The Artist and the Others, in cooperation with its Euregional partners, is launching this open call focused on Design proposals for Circular Economies, for architects, designers, digital media professionals as well as any crossover.
