Portfolio for Visual Artists: Dialogue, Analysis and Critique & Portfolio night.

A portfolio ”is a collection of your work, which shows how your skills and ideas have developed over a period of time. It demonstrates your creativity, personality, abilities and commitment, and helps us to evaluate your potential.”

Easy, right? Easier said than done.

What are the specifics of a portfolio nowadays?
What format does a Portfolio have?
What kind of content and information should you include, and how can you adapt it for various audiences (think curator, gallery owner, on-line selling platform or magazine)?
How should you approach the intended recipient?
How should you deliver your portfolio to them?
What are the big dos and don’ts?
What should you focus on?

Our guest speakers offer you their answers to these questions and some key lessons from their experiences of working with young artists.

The workshop is divided in 2 events and is tailored to provide artists and young cultural professionals with expert knowledge about the PORTFOLIO.

On the 11th of September, you will have the chance to enjoy a panel discussion, in which professionals from the field with both national and international experience will share their knowledge about Portfolios, the do and don’ts, formats, expectations and some insights from the contemporary art scene.

You will share and learn from 2 international curators, Barbara Cueto and Bas Hendrikx, gallerist Marieke Severens and Patty Morgan, the innovative, on-line only platform for contemporary art in The Netherlands.

Then on the 25th of September, you will have the opportunity to put all your new knowledge into practice and present your portfolio to several stakeholders* from the Euregion.

*For this event we have invited curators, directors of contemporary art institutions and initiatives focused on emerging artists as well as international gallerists. Soon all the list.

Don’t miss this chance to show your portfolio to several stakeholders in the Euregion.

For the second workshop, you will be able to select which two professionals you want to meet. We will do our best to make sure that everyone gets to meet with their top two choices. You don’t have to attend both workshops, but we will give priority to those who attended the first one.

Join us, and invest in your professional career.
